Tuesday Tip: Frozen Pizza Night Is a Perfectly Acceptable Dinner
Tuesday Tip: frozen pizza night is not a failure. I said what I said. 🍕
I am a very busy mom of five kids, and I have had approximately one million days where everything went sideways. The baby won’t let you put her down. Somebody needs something. Then somebody else needs something. Then it’s 5:30 and you haven’t even thought about dinner and you are running on empty. You know exactly what I’m talking about, don’t you?
Here is my Tuesday Tip, and I will not apologize for it: on those days, a frozen pizza or a box of mac and cheese — or both — is a perfectly acceptable way to feed your family. Chicken nuggets? Also acceptable. Whatever gets food on the table and keeps your people fed, safe, and loved. That counts. That is enough. YOU are enough.
Because here is the truth that took me a long time to really believe: your kids are not going to remember that you served them frozen pizza on a Tuesday. They are going to remember that their mama showed up. That she took care of everybody around her all day long. That she kept them fed and warm and loved even on the hard days. That is the memory that sticks. Not the menu.
So if tonight is a frozen pizza night — or a chicken nugget night, or a cereal-for-dinner night — do not beat yourself up. You are doing a great job. I promise you, your kids think so too.
From one busy mom to another: it’s okay. We’re all in this together. Pull up a chair — even if dinner came out of the freezer tonight. ❤️
