Equipment

Blender Blenders may not be fancy, but they are necessary. Get a good solid one that will do it's job!

Pyrex Measuring Cups I love my Pyrex Measuring Cups. They are part of my kitchen essentials.

Strainer I learned this the hard way - get a good quality strainer!
Method Start Cooking
- Stir 1 cup sugar into 1 cup warm water until fully dissolved — no boiling needed.
- Pour the sugar water into a blender. Add 1 cup lemon juice and 2 cups frozen mixed berries (no need to thaw).
- Blend until smooth.
- Pour the blended mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into a pitcher to remove the seeds.
- Stir in 4 cups cold water and 2 cups ice.
- Stir well and serve cold over ice.

Notes
Makes about a half gallon for roughly $2.56. Keeps in the fridge 3–4 days — stir before serving, as the berry pulp settles.
Use frozen berries to keep it cold and go easy on the ice. Warm (not boiling) water dissolves the sugar in seconds. Adjust to taste — more lemon for tart, a little more cold water for milder.
